1. 2008 – 2012: Team Leader managing.
Saferworld’s programme in Uganda, which focuses on SALW control, CSA and security and justicesector development (SJSD). Specific components include:
- Karamoja Community Security Programme - supporting people to people initiatives to peace and security while promoting effective response of local authorities to community needs.
- Leading Saferworld support to Uganda National FocalPoint on SALW (NFP) to strengthen SALW control and capacity to implement National Action Plan.
- Managing Saferworld contribution to Advisory Consortium on Conflict Sensitivity project a partnership of three NGOs, supporting DFID and partners strengthen potential of DFID’s Post Conflict Development Programme to ensure the recovery process in N. Uganda addresses conflict causes and contribute to sustainable peace.
2. 2001 – 2008: Coordinator NFP - managing the inter-agency body coordinating national responses to SALW proliferation - coordination with government and non-state stakeholders; with regional and international bodies on implementation of international agreements.
3. 2001 – 2002: Commissioner of Police/ Firearms Control - responsible for firearms control in Uganda Police Force and regulation of civilian firearms, their licensing and record keeping.
