From July 30 to August 3, 2023, Vice President and Secretary General Li Chijiang led a delegation to attend the Preparatory Committee for the 2026 Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons held in Vienna. Experts from China Institute of Nuclear Industry Strategy (CINIS), Center for Strategic Studies of China Academy of Engineering Physics, and China Institute of Atomic Energy (CIAE) attended the conference.

Secretary-General Li Chijiang delivered remarks in the General Debate of the conference on behalf of CACDA, expressing views on the international security situation and NPT review process. Li stressed that maintaining global strategic stability is the top priority, and the international community must earnestly abide by and strengthen international arms control treaties and mechanisms, properly handle the AUKUS nuclear submarine cooperation, resolutely oppose the proliferation of nuclear sharing to Asia-Pacific Region, and stay committed to the political and diplomatic settlement of hotspot nuclear non-proliferation issues. Li also highlighted the Global Security Initiative proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping in his remarks.

During the conference, the association had extensive exchanges with representatives from Council on Strategic Risks, Open Nuclear Network and James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies, etc.
