On November 21, 2022, the China Arms Control and Disarmament Association and Saferworld held an expert working group meeting on ACE Project. Li Chijiang, Secretary-General of the CACDA, and Roy Isbister, Project Director of the Saferworld, addressed the meeting respectively. Experts from Kenya Security Research and Information Center, Peace Research Institute Frankfurt, Conflict Armament Research, China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations and other institutions attended the meeting. The meeting discussed and approved the final report and other related research reports of the project, and exchanged ideas on future working plans.

The ACE project was launched in 2019 with the participation of think tanks and NGOs from China, Africa and the EU. It aims to promote the prevention of the diversion of conventional weapons, especially SALW in Africa through joint seminars and research activities. The project lasted three years and published 6 research reports, which has put forward constructive suggestions for addressing the challenge of SALW proliferation in Africa.
