From November 16 to 17, 2022, the China Arms Control and Disarmament Association successfully held the International Symposium on "Nuclear Firewall" online together with the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and the China Institute of Nuclear Industry Strategy. Li Chijiang, Secretary-General of the China Arms Control and Disarmament Association, Luo Qingping, President of the China Institute of Nuclear Industry Strategy, and Toby Dalton, Director of Nuclear Policy at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace attended and addressed the meeting.

Under the theme of opportunities and challenges in the development of nuclear energy, experts at the meeting had in-depth discussions on the prospects, advantages and non-proliferation of the development of small modular reactors (SMR). More than 30 experts and scholars from the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, Stimson Center, Argonne National Laboratory, Famatone, Office of Nuclear Innovation and Research of the UK, China Arms Control and Disarmament Association, Tsinghua University, China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations, China National Nuclear Corporation, China Institute of Atomic Energy, China Institute of Nuclear Power Research and Design, China Institute of Nuclear Industry Strategy and other institutions attended the meeting.
