On April 27 and 29, 2021, CACDA held the third round of China-U.S. Track 2 Dialouge on Nuclear Security with Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI) of the U.S.  CACDA Secretary General Li Chijiang and NTI Vice President Ambassador  Laura Holgate attended the dialogue and delivered opening remarks. More than 30 scholars from State Nuclear Security Technology Center, China Institute of Contemporary International Relations, China Institute of Atomic Energy, China Academy of Engineering Physics, China Institute of Nuclear Industry Strategy (CINIS),  Arms Control Association (ACA), Carnegie Institute for International Peace, Stimson Center and World Institute of Nuclear Security attended the meeting. Experts from both sides conducted in-depth discussions on the topics including current state of nuclear security, the implementation of Nuclear Security Summit pledges, preparation for 2021 Review Conference for the Amended CPPNM, and promoting exchanges and cooperation among nuclear security technology centers of various countries.

CACDA and NTI launched the China-U.S. Track 2 Dialouge on Nuclear Security in 2018, and two meetings have been successfully held so far. The dialogue has yielded positive results by strengthening  exchanges and cooperation between the scholars in the field of nuclear security, and effectively supporting the official dialogue on nuclear security between China and the U.S.
