      Sha Zukang

Ambassador Sha Zukang is a career diplomat. He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the People's Republic of China in 1970. His postings in   diplomatic missions abroad include London, Colombo, New Delhi, New York and Geneva. He worked as Counselor of the Chinese Mission to the United   Nations, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Organizations and Conferences of MFA, Ambassador for Disarmament Affairs, Director-   General of the Department of Arms Control of MFA, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Chinese Mission to the United Nations Office at   Geneva and Other International Organizations in Switzerland, and United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs. In his diplomatic   career, Amb. Sha’s portfolios cover a wide range of fields including politics, security, economy, social affairs, human rights and humanitarian affairs. As an adviser to the Chinese government and military authorities, he has been involved in the making of many major diplomatic policies. He is one of the architects of a series of major initiatives on arms control and disarmament. He is both a participant and a witness of Chinese diplomacy since the reform and opening-up.

 Ambassador Zhang Yan assumed the current position as President of China Arms Control and Disarmament Association since 2018. He joined the Ministry of   Foreign Affairs in 1976. In his diplomatic career, he has served as Counselor of the International Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1995-1996),   Senior Official (with Ambassador Title) of the People’s Republic of China to the Asian-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) (1998-1999), Deputy Executive-   Director and Executive-Director of the Secretariat of APEC (2000-2001), Permanent Representative and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the   People’s Republic of China to the United Nations and Other International Organizations in Vienna (2002-2005), Director-General of the Arms Control   Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2005-2007), Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of India (2007-2012) and Executive Director of Asia-Europe Foundation (2012-2016).

      Li Chijiang

Li Chijiang, Vice President & Secretary General of China Arms Control and Disarmament Association. He graduated from the College of Foreign Languages,     Chongqing University and joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1997. He used to work in Permanent Mission of the P.R. China to the Organization for the   Prohibition of Chemical Weapons and Permanent Mission of the P.R. China to the United Nations Office at Geneva and Other International Organizations in   Switzerland. He served as Deputy Director and Director of the Arms Control Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Counselor of the Chinese   Embassy in the United Kingdom. He took the current position as Vice President and Secretary-General of China Arms Control and Disarmament Association since 2019.
